Hello to my fellow peers. Louie Pasture once said, “Let me tell you the secret that has led to my goals. My strength lies solely in tenacity.” In this article, I define perseverance by situation. It is the ability to push through anything that comes your way. Let me tell you my story. My name is Arjun Agarwal, and I am still persevering.
This is a story about my friends.
One thing about persevering with a problem, is that it is more likely to get solved. Many people think that some of my friends have a hard time learning because they have limited abilities. This can be true. Even though I can imagine their frustration with this misconception, they still seem to walk in a classroom with an eager mindset. They are still persevering.
This is a story about my parents.
Great people achieve greatness by practicing perseverance. Some of the greatest people I know are pushing through the toughest situations; for example, my parents.
I feel they serve as the best example because they are always putting me before themselves. They are strong in many ways. They didn’t ask for the child they got, but they still fell blessed to have me. They are still persevering.
This is a story about myself.
Maintaining perseverance can lead you to the greatest glory of living. It is something that keeps me going. For a long time I didn’t know what it meant to fight for myself because I was born with people fighting for me. I sometimes fight with myself, and that can keep me from completing my goals. I don’t let it, though. I am still persevering.
This entire article shows what perseverance is.
It’s not always the destination, but about the journey to it. If you shoot for the stars, you’ll achieve great things. Without this, we will fall for anything. So every time you think you can’t do something, remember, you are still persevering.
Thank you.
Editor’s note: Arjun is nonspeaking and uses a letterboard to communicate. This is a long journey of learning new motor pathways and catching up on so much time spent in silence, and writing this article took several hours of drafting and editing.
