Summer’s end is near
The trees are so excited
That they drop their leaves
The birds begin to sing
A leaving song
School boys cry to the fall bell
Classes resume and mothers cheer
Summer’s gone again

Rumi is an 8 and a half years old boy who lives in Calgary, Alberta. Although Rumi does not speak, he learned to communicate by spelling letters on a letter board using Rapid Prompting Method (RPM). RPM gave Rumi an opportunity to voice his thoughts and ideas. Rumi has a goal to advocate for quality communication and educational opportunities for all nonspeaking people.
